Usage:
- To reconfirm what you have just heard = did you say…?
- To restate what you have just said = I said that... (example 6)
- When responding to a suggestion ending in -(으)ㄹ까요?, the citation form for propositive sentences should be used -자고요? (example 5)

Tense:

1. In declarative sentence
- 현재: A-다고요? / V-(느)ㄴ다고요? / N-(이)라고요?
- 과거: A/V-았/었다고요? / N-였다고요? or N-이었다고요?
- 미래: A/V-(으)ㄹ 거라고요?  /  N-일 거라고요?

E.g.
A: 춥다 -- 춥다고요? -- 추웠다고요?  -- 추울 거라고요?
V: 가다 -- 간다고요? -- 갔다고요? -- 갈 거라고요?
N: 의사 -- 의사(이)라고요? -- 의사였다고요? -- 의사일 거라고요?


2. In interrogative sentence
- 현재: A-냐고요? / V-(느)ㄴ냐고요? / N-(이)냐고요?
- 과거: A/V-았/었냐고요? / N-였냐고요? or N-이었냐고요?
- 미래: A/V-(으)ㄹ 거냐고요?

E.g.  
A: 춥다 -- 춥냐고요? -- 추웠냐고요?  -- 추울 거냐고요?
V: 가다 -- 가요? -- 갔요? -- 갈 거요?
N: 의사 -- 의사냐고요? -- 의사였냐고요? -- 의사일 거냐고요?


3. In propositive sentence
- 긍정: V-자고요?
- 부정: V-지 말자고요?

E.g.  
보다 -- 보자고요?  -- 보지 말자고요?


4. In imperative sentence
- 긍정: V-(으)라고요?
- 부정: V-지 말라고요?

E.g.  
말하다 -- 말하라요? -- 말하지 말라요?




Examples:

1. 어, 밖에 비가 오네요.
- 비가 온다고요? 산책 하고 가려고 했는데 못 가겠어요.
It’s raining outside.
- Did you say it’s raining? I was planning to go walking, I guess I can't go now.

2. 수업 끝나고 Twosome에서 만나요.
- 어디에서 만나자고요?
- Twosome이요. 학교 앞에 있는 커피숍이에요.
Let’s meet at Twosome after class.
- Where did you say to meet?
- It's Twosome, a coffee shop in front of school.

3. 오늘까지 보고서를 완성하도록 하세요.
- 오늘까지 완성하라고요? 어제는 금요일까지 하라고 하셨잖아요?
Please try to finish the report by today.
- Did you say finishing the report till today? Didn't you say yesterday that the due date is on Friday?

4. 왜 수지 씨를 사랑해요?
- 왜 사랑하냐고요? 글쎄요, 설명하기 힘든데요.
Why do you love Suzy?
- Do you ask why do I love her? Well, it’s hard to explain.

5. 우리 이 번 토요일에 같이 보령머드축제에 갈까요?
- 보령머드축제에 가자고요?
Shall we go to Boryeong Mud Festival together this Saturday?
- Did you say we go to Boryeong Mud Festival?

6. 회사를 그만두었어요.
- 뭐라고요?
- 회사를 그만두었다고요.
I quit my job
- What did you say?
- I said I quit my job.

7. 세미나 시간이 10 시 오전부터 3 시 오후까지  바뀌었어요.
- 몇 시에 바뀌었다고요?
The seminar schedule was changed from 10 am to 3 pm.
- At what time did you say it was changed?

8. 매일 아침 6 시에 일어나서 운동을 해요.
- 매일 아침 6 시에 일어나서 운동을 한다고요? 정말 부지런하시네요.
I wake up 6 am everyday and do exercises.
- Did you say you wake up 6 am everyday and do exercises? You’re so diligent.

9. 지난 주에 산 책을 다 읽었어요.
- 책을 벌써 다 읽었다고요? 책을 정말 빨리 읽는군요.
I finished reading the book that I bought last week.
- Did you say you finished the book already? You read so fast!!!

10. 무슨 일 있어요? 피곤해 보여요.
- 피곤해 보인다고요? 어젯밤을 못 자서 그런가 봐요.
What happen? You look tired.
- Did you say I look tired? I couldn’t sleep last night, so I got tired.
