- 식당에 있었어.
Where were you a while ago?
- I was in a restaurant.


*A/V-지? : ending used to peers  (interrogative sentence ending)

이 음악 좋지?
- 응, 참 좋다.
Isn't the music nice?
- Yes, it's very nice.

시간이 얼마나 걸리지?
- 1시간쯤 결려.
How long does it take?
- It takes about 1 hour.


*N이야/야./? : ending used to peers

저 사람은 누구야?
- 우리 형이야.

- He is my older brother.


2. A-(으)ㄹ까? : will N be A/Do you think? (make the question less straight to listener)

- A-(으)ㄹ 거야. : will (probably) be A.

이 옷은 나한테 작을까?
- 아마 작을 거야.
Do you think this dress will be too small for me?
- Probably.

3. V-(으)ㄹ 거야? : will V? (used to peers)

- V-(으)ㄹ 거야. : will V.

주말에 무엇을 할 거야?
- 집에서 쉴 거야.
What are you going to do in weekend?
- I will stay at home and rest.


4. V-아/어 : used to give a command (imperative ending) (used to peers)

내 말을 잘 들어 봐.
Listen carefully to what I am saying.

늦었는데, 얼룩 가.
You're late, leave now.

내일 9시까지 핚교에 와.
Come to school by 9 tomorrow.


5. V-자 : let's V

시간이 없으니까 빨리 가자.
We don't have much time, so let's go.
*V-지 말자 : let's not V

돈이 모자라니까 그러 사지 말자.
We are in short of money, so let's not buy it.


6. A-다! V-ㄴ다/는다! : exclamatory ending (used to peers).

아, 맛있다!
Ah, it's delicious!

아주 잘한다!
 It's so great.

7. 너는/넌/니가 : you

네가 전화했지?
- 아니, 내가 안 했어.
Did you call?
- No, I  didn't.

너는 한국말을 정말 잘해.
You speak Korean so well.

이거 네 책이니?
-응, 내 거야.
Is it your book?
- Yes, it is.


*너를/널 : you

널 만나고 싶었어.
 I wanted to meet you.

*너에게/너한테 : to you/ for you.

너한테 주려고 꽃을 샀어.
I bought this flowers for you.

*너와/너하고 : with you.

너와 이야기하면 기분이 참 좋다.
 I feel really good when I talk to you.


8. N이나/나 : as many/much/long as (up to) N

어제는 잠을 12시간이나 잤어요.
I slept up to 12 hours yesterday.

그 영화를 세번이나 봤어.
I watched that movie (as many as) three times.

9. 그래/아니 : sure/ no (used to peers)

먼저 가도 되지?
- 그래. 잘 가.
May I go first?
- Sure. Bye.

10. 그런 것 같다 : I think so/ it seems like that.

한국어가 어렵지?
- 그런 것 같아.

11. 그렇지 않다 : I don't think so.

노래를 아주 달하지?
- 그렇지 않아. 잘 못해.

12. 한턱내다 : to treat someone

언제 한턱낼 거야?
When are you going to treat me?
